My goals and intentions with this drawing were to get more comfortable with using charcoal. I accomplished those goals by getting more comfortable with using charcoal. What surprised me most was how the people around me all have completely different styles of drawing. One challenge I had to face getting the texture of the pumpkins. Also one of the stems kept getting rubber off. I met those challenges by putting a piece of paper over my drawing to keep from smudging. I also kept working at the texture and thankfully got a pleasant end result. I experience the shift from right to left brain many times when I just zoned out and let my hand move. My drawing really works with the shadows around the pumpkins. It gives it an eerie aura. I learned not to overthink everything and to just let my hand move when drawing. If I had a do-over I would focus more on the bottom left pumpkins shading. I think the best thing about my work is the shadows around the pumpkins.
