My goals and intentions with this drawing were to get to a point were I felt truly comfortable using charcoal. I accomplished these goals by getting more practice with charcoal. What surprised me most about doing this drawing was how soothing it was to draw. I didn't overthink anything and just did it. The most difficult challenge I had to face was drawing the fork. I met that challenge by asking for help from the people around me and Mr. Gaudreau. I experienced the shift from left to right brain when I was working on the shadows and the "black" air. I think my drawing really works where the egg is. I really like my egg. I have learned that it is ok to try a few different ways of drawing something if you aren't really sure where to start. Another artist in the class I learned from was Alyssa. I learned about light and how lines can disappear where the light hits. If I had a do-over I would spend more time on the cup. I think the best thing about my work is the egg. I really love the egg and shadow around it.
