My goals and intentions with this drawing were to get more comfortable with using charcoal. I accomplished those goals by getting more comfortable with using charcoal. What surprised me most was how the people around me all have completely different styles of drawing. One challenge I had to face getting the texture of the pumpkins. Also one of the stems kept getting rubber off. I met those challenges by putting a piece of paper over my drawing to keep from smudging. I also kept working at the texture and thankfully got a pleasant end result. I experience the shift from right to left brain many times when I just zoned out and let my hand move. My drawing really works with the shadows around the pumpkins. It gives it an eerie aura. I learned not to overthink everything and to just let my hand move when drawing. If I had a do-over I would focus more on the bottom left pumpkins shading. I think the best thing about my work is the shadows around the pumpkins.

My goals for this for this project were to have fun while doing it. I accomplished it by not worrying to much about the end result and just getting immersed into it. The eyes, nose and lips were easy to draw but putting them together was a little difficult. I met that challenge by working at it until I got the result I wanted. I experienced the shift from right to left brain when I was drawing the nose and lips. I think my drawing really works where the hair is. Some things I have learned is that you can take a pencil and use it to aline all of the facial features. I learned from Grace while we were working on this project. She is such an amazing artist. She did very well blocking out the shadows. If I had a do over I would probably work more on blocking the shadows. I think the best part of my art is the sha...
